AIGA Raleigh is proud to name its second Fellow, David Burney. His dedication to Design and the Triangle creative community is well known. And as AIGA Raleigh turns 25, his commitment to our local chapter serves as a constant inspiration to us all.

As AIGA Raleigh prepares to celebrate its 25th Anniversary, join us in honoring one of our founding members. Plus, you’ll want to be around as David’s friends really let him have it!

At this event, you’ll also find out more about AIGA’s 2014 Mandate for change and how it can affect you, your design career and the design community as a whole.

About David Burney: An active and long-time member of AIGA, Burney is a founding member and former President of the Raleigh chapter. He also served as the Chair of the National President’s Council. David has nearly 30 years experience building and leading creative services organizations — as the owner of Burney Design, Chief Creative Officer at Capstrat, Chief Designer at the NC Museum of Art, and as Vice President of Brand Communications and Design at Red Hat—one of the world’s most disruptive technology brands. He is also a founding partner & Chief Executive Officer of New Kind.

AIGA’s Fellow award program recognizes designers who’ve made a significant contribution to raising the standards of excellence in practice and conduct within their local or regional design community. This year, with 63 chapters nationwide, 22 Fellows were honored. It’s a big deal — especially as AIGA nears its 100th year.
