AIGA National is featuring six up-and-coming designers in it’s new video series, presented by Wacom Technology titled, “Rise and Shine.” The series will be spotlighting an array of designers in multiple stages of their careers. Take a look at the first three amazing stories below.
The following content has been sourced from AIGA National to share with our AIGA Raleigh Students and Emerging Designers creative community.
In the first episode of “Rise & Shine,” we visit communication and motion designer Eden Weingart as she moves from the Carnegie Mellon dorms to her new position at Wieden + Kennedy in New York City.
In the second episode of AIGA’s video series we travel to Salt Lake City to visit designer and letterer Thy Doan of Pen and Palates. Learn how working as a sign painter at Whole Foods renewed her passion for meticulous hand-lettering, and watch her use digital tools to paint large-scale typographic murals.
In the third installment of “Rise & Shine,” we travel to Seattle, where Gage Mitchell founded sustainable graphic design studio Modern Species with his wife and partner, Jen Stewart. See how how unexpected influences, like Eddie Murphy’s role as an ad exec in the 1992 movie Boomerang inspired Mitchell to start a creative business of his own.
