Creative Mornings Comes to Raleigh!

CreativeMornings/Raleigh launched successfully at 8:30am on September 14, 2012 in the educational classroom at CAM Raleigh.  Folks from Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill claimed all 120 available tickets in only 25 hours to attend the inaugural speaking event.

What is CreativeMornings? A free of charge, monthly breakfast lecture series for creative types. Think of it as a local morning mini-conference and inspirational community boost before work. Nothing fancy, just good people and a great 20-30 minute talk (not to mention coffee and snacks!)

CreativeMornings was started by Tina Roth Eisenberg (aka swiss-miss) in September of 2009 out of the desire to create a casual, accessible event.  Thousands of creative professionals attend CreativeMornings events around the globe every month. The individual chapters are run by volunteers that believe in the power of like-minded people getting together to meet, share and learn.

We applied to bring a chapter of CreativeMornings to Raleigh because we see the event as a delightfully simple, yet potent platform to connect at the local level while contributing to the international conversation around design and creativity.

With the success of our first event, we now have a better understanding of where we need help and how we can include more people on our team of volunteers—which is why we are reaching out to you and AIGA. I will be at the next monthly get-together to talk a little bit more about the event and what roles we will need to fill over the coming months.

Feel free to get in touch with me, Matt Tomasulo the organizer of the local chapter at Matt@CityFabric.net or Raleigh@creativemornings.com
