AIGA Raleigh is happy to announce that the 2017 AIGA Raleigh Student Portfolio Review: The Hot Seat Edition is scheduled to be held on Saturday, March 18 at Centerline Digital in downtown Raleigh.
The AIGA Raleigh Student Portfolio Review: The Hot Seat Edition is an event established for senior, undergraduate level students that are beginning their transformation into emerging designers. As a student attendee, you will receive a constructive, group evaluation of your work from a variety of design professionals and fellow design students located in the Triangle area. Each student will participate in a group evaluation of their work, presenting to up to a total of three students and four reviewers. A minimum of twenty minutes will be dedicated to each student's presentation and discussion.
Students, consider the Student Portfolio Review to be your call-to-action: to receive broader feedback and critique from new perspectives and fresh eyes. While this event is not a job fair, some reviewers may be looking for potential employees or interns. This is a great way to network and become aware of who’s who in the Triangle design community.
Students please arrive promptly at 2:00 pm at Centerline. You will need to check in – where you will receive your assignment/review location at that time. After you receive your assignment, you will be able to network with fellow students.
Reviewers please arrive promptly at 3:00 pm at Centerline. You will need to check in – where you will receive your assignment/review location at that time. After you receive your assignment, you will be able to network with fellow professionals and enjoy refreshments. Following networking, each reviewer will participate in a group evaluation (with up to a total of three students, and four reviewers) for the duration of the review session. Lastly, the Directors of the event will pose questions that recap design expectations and characteristics of a junior designer.
Volunteers please arrive promptly at 1:00 pm at Centerline. You will be receiving your individualized schedules via email prior to the event date. We will be providing light refreshments for our volunteers that you will be able to enjoy at your convenience.
