AIGA Raleigh Community Meeting | April 5, 2017

Women today outnumber men in AIGA’s membership—as well as design schools and disciplines—yet leadership, representation, and parity remain a challenge.

Join AIGA Raleigh for our April Community Meeting as we discuss women leaders in the Raleigh design community. We'll be joined by a leadership panel featuring female creatives who are dedicated to an open dialogue and bringing attention to gender equity. We'll be asking questions like how do you establish yourself as a potential leader? What inspires the best from your team? How much does your personality define your leadership style? These designers will talk critically about women's leadership issues and offer their insights, inspiration, and advice.

Our community meeting will also feature a fun workshop with a "game-like" methodology. AIGA Women Lead has teamed up with designer and sociologist Leyla Acaroglu of Disrupt Design to create the Gender Equity Toolkit. It’s a new set of resources including videos and a downloadable activities that gives your creative team a secret weapon for busting through one of the leading causes of disparate access to leadership positions in the design field: implicit gender-related bias.

Our Community Meetings are free and open to everyone.

New to the area? New to AIGA? Interested in becoming a member? Ready to get involved? The monthly community meeting is a great place to get started and you don't have to be a member to attend.

There’s no better way to see what’s going on in the Triangle creative community, get involved, and participate in shaping the chapter’s growth. Introductions start at 6:30. See you then!
