Lunch is provided, vegetarian options too!

I love classic design and illustration. I love how they have aged. The inky lines, bleeding ink, misregistration, halftone textures, and just the overall warmth that is missing from a lot of today's all-digital workflows. Well, I also love our all-digital workflows and tools and bringing that old-school aesthetic into the new-school world.

Join me on December 13 as I talk about and show you how to achieve these results in your own work. I will go over workflows, tools such as brushes and textures in both Photoshop and Illustrator, demonstrate using digital tablets like a Wacom and Cintiq, and homebrewing some of your own brushes and textures to make your work truly your own from the ground up.

I will show you

  • Brush sets for both Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Texture sets for both Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Making your own textures for Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Making your own brushes
  • Workflow with Wacom Tablets and the Wacom Cintiq

Excited to hang out and talk shop with you all! Let's have some great food thanks to 18 Seaboard and build a stronger creative community at the same time!

Homegrown, a Lunch & Learn series from AIGA Raleigh

Things change fast in our industry, and it's important for us to grow our non-traditional design skills. This monthly lunch series brings local, "homegrown" experts together with designers for an intimate, in-depth discussion of different skills or topics that will help designers add a few skills to their toolbox. Homegrown is your opportunity to have lunch with the smartest people in town.
