This week, our chapter submitted a bid to host the national AIGA Leadership Retreat right here in Raleigh, NC. This event brings folks from all 68 chapters together for a long weekend to share and learn from one another. AIGA describes it this way:
Featuring chapter success stories, breakout sessions, case studies, group lunches, evening events around the city and much more, this invitation-only event will invigorate chapter board members to address pressing challenges and plan for the future in their chapters and communities.
As you know, several folks from the Raleigh board traveled to Minneapolis in early June this year to attend this event. (And you might remember our super cool trading card.) Hosting comes with a ton of challenges, but more than double that in rewards. It definitely requires the commitment of a community like ours. It’s an opportunity of a lifetime for us and we’re crossing our fingers and toes that we get it. The bid doc is attached. Thanks to J. Opp, Amy Lyons and Matt M. for pulling this document together!
