AIGA Raleigh in partnership with AIGA Hampton Roads, VA is proud to present:
Lettering for Logotypes Workshop
In this lettering workshop, participants will arrive prepared with a logotype (either existing or from a personal project) that they would like to improve. By considering what tools and techniques were used to create the original, we will go back to the drawing board to complete a brilliant new interpretation.
Attendees Will Learn
- Basic principles of calligraphy
- Spacing theory
- Sketching techniques
- The difference between good and evil (lettering)
What to Bring?
- Pens (of varying width is useful, but not necessary)
- Ruler (one for every participant is not necessary, they can share)
- Marker paper, or other tracing paper
- An existing logotype they'd like to improve. Can be original or sourced from anywhere.
There will be logotypes on-hand for those who don't have one to bring.
