Meet our THRIVE Speakers: Keetra Dean Dixon

To introduce you to our speakers, we asked them to answer a few questions. Meet Keetra Dean Dixon, a designer, director, artist, and teacher. She recently traded in her 15-year practice as an experiential director to focus on independent work including lettering, sculpture, and product design. Her hybrid background continues to lead her towards speculative terrain, leveraging emergent technologies and process-focused making. Dixon is an ADC Young Gun and a recipient of the U.S. Presidential Award. Her client roster includes the New York Times, Nike, VW, and Coach. She’s shown at the Walker Art Center, the Cooper Hewitt, the Museum of Arts and Design in New York City, and her work is in the permanent design collection at the SFMOMA.

Meet THRIVE speaker Scotty Russell of Perspective-Collective, the studio of Scotty Russell, a lettering artist and illustrator based out of Cedar Falls, Iowa. Some of his minor obsessions consist of drawing on everything he can find and anything to do with pizza. Outside of being an artist, he strives to encourage his creative peers. He does this through co-hosting monthly Drink & Draws, teaching workshops, public speaking, and his weekly Perspective Podcast. He’s a big advocate for making time to build something for yourself whether through freelance, side projects or your own business. Meet our THRIVE Speakers: Antoinette Carroll

Meet THRIVE speaker Antoinette Carroll. Antoniette is the president, CEO, and founder of Creative Reaction Lab in St. Louis, which was born in response to the unrest in Ferguson in 2014 following the shooting of 18-year old unarmed Michael Brown by a police officer. Creative Reaction Lab educates, trains, and challenges youth to co-create solutions with Black and Latinx populations to design healthy and racially equitable communities. Antoinette has served on the board of AIGA Saint Louis for several years in various roles, most recently as president. She was also the founding chair of the AIGA Diversity & Inclusion Task Force.
