I’m thrilled we were able to talk David Baker (ReCourses.com) into giving a lecture in Raleigh. To my mind, he’s not simply AN authority on the topic of Design & Business—he’s THE authority.

As the founder of a 9-person graphic design studio, I’ve felt obligated to read pretty much every book that’s ever been written on how to run a successful design business. But guess what? Very few of them have told me anything I didn’t already know. David Baker is the exception to that rule. He knows our industry inside and out, and he’s worked with literally hundreds of top firms since 1994. He’s a frequent contributor to nearly every design and marketing industry publication, and a speaker at nearly every national design and marketing conference (HOW, AIGA, GAIN, MYOB, etc.). I’m eager to hear David’s perspective on designer-client relationships in the down economy, and have no doubt I’ll come away with insights that benefit my business.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re a student, a freelancer, a staff designer or studio owner—you can learn something valuable from this guy!
